| LIGHT ARTILLERY INDEX |
|
Back to Unit Index Eight types of light artillery units will be simulated in the alpha scenario of CIL:
Smoothbore - The most common light artillery piece in use before the Civil War.
Rifled - A more accurate light cannon, still muzzle-loaded but taking advantage of rifling.
Breach-Loaded - Breach loading affored a higher rate of fire and greater protection to the artillerist.
Hydropneumatic Recoil - Stabilized, highly effective guns with an effective range upwards of 5 miles.
Early Light AA - A rapid-firing gun useful against soft targets and presenting decent AA power.
Modern Light IG - The generic 75mm infantry gun of World War II.
Modern Light AT - As opposed to earlier batteries, which would be designated as AT guns due to their ammunition, these guns are specifically built to be anti-tank assets.
Modern Heavy IG - The not-so-generic, heavily powered 150mm equivelent infantry gun.
Modern Light AA - A rapid-firing light gun such as the German 20mm.
